Helping Luca Rise Above

Luca has an ultra rare condition called Complete DiGeorge Syndrome. 

He is one of the estimated 15-20 babies born in the States per year to have this condition. As a result, he was born without a thymus, the epicenter of the immune system. In July her underwent a thymus transplant. As of now, he remains inpatient and in isolation while the thymus "learns" how to work properly.  

Luca spent his first year inpatient, and continued isolation until he was a year and a half old. His complex diagnoses and critical airway have made it necessary for a parent to be with him 24/7. 

Transitioning from the hospital and into family life has been a  challenging endeavor financially, mentally, and physically. Donations ensure the family can provide Luca with all he needs.
